Ingredients

  • 1 Large Ripe mango fresh or frozen; cut, dice, or flash‑freeze for extra chill
  • cups Plain milk kefir unflavored; swap with coconut milk kefir for a vegan version
  • 1 tablespoon Honey optional; swap with agave syrup if you prefer vegan or lower sugar
  • Pinch Ground cayenne powder optional; adds a spicy kick
  • Pinch Cardamom powder optional; classic warming spice
  • 4 Ice cubes optional; for a colder, creamier smoothie
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt optional; a dollop makes it thicker
  • Splash milk optional; adjust thickness to your taste

Equipment

  • High speed blender
  • Chef’s knife
  • Cutting Board

Method

  1. Prepare mango: Cut fresh mango or use frozen cubes.
  2. Load the blender: Add mango, kefir, honey (or agave), cayenne, cardamom, and ice.
  3. Blend: Blitz on high until smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste & adjust: Add more kefir or milk for a thinner lassi, Greek yogurt for thicker, or sweeten with extra honey/agave.
  5. Serve: Pour into glasses, garnish with a pinch of cardamom, mint leaves, or pistachios. Drink immediately for the best cold, creamy texture.
How to Cut a Mango
Cutting a mango can feel tricky, after years of mangling and frustration, here’s the easy way:
    1. Stand the mango on one end.
    2. Slice down on each side of the large, flat pit with a chef’s knife (rotate 90 degrees if you feel resistance).
    3. Score the flesh into a grid without cutting through the skin.
    4. Slice mango cubes off the peel, or peel first with a y‑peeler then dice.
    5. Trim any remaining fruit from the pit.

    Notes

Flash-freeze mango for extra chill; swap honey for agave to keep it vegan-friendly!
