Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour or whole wheat
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder optional for fluffier flatbread
Wet Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup plain kefir
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil for cooking
Optional Ingredients:
  • Herbs rosemary, thyme, parsley
  • Garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor

Method
 

Step 1: Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. Place flour, baking powder mixture, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk flour together to ensure the dry ingredients well combine and remove lumps.
Step 2: Add Kefir And Oil
  1. Add kefir and olive oil pouring into the center. Use knife stirring or sturdy spoon mixing to combine.
Step 3: Form The Dough
  1. Mix until a soft dough formation appears. If the dough feels dry, add a small amount of kefir.
  2. Be careful of sticky dough caution and avoid adding too much liquid.
Step 4: Divide The Dough
  1. Gather the dough and kneading briefly until smooth.
  2. Then perform dough quarters division using sharp knife cutting.
  3. Shape each piece into dough balls shaping.
Step 5: Roll The Flatbreads
  1. Use the rolling pin method to flatten each ball into a dough disc shaping.
  2. If needed, use hand patting method to shape an imperfect circle.
Step 6: Cook In A Hot Pan
  1. Place the dough in a non stick pan heating or cast iron pan over medium high heat.
  2. The bread will start bubbling dough and develop brown spots bread.
Step 7: Flip And Finish Cooking
  1. Turn the bread using bread flipping and cook the second side until fully cooked.
Step 8: Keep Flatbreads Warm
  1. Place cooked bread in a cloth lined basket and cover with a tea towel cover to keep warm.
  2. Repeat the repeated baking process until all bread is ready.
