Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup Green Valley Lactose-Free Plain Kefir — Plain, lactose-free kefir, the probiotic base for the smoothie.
  • ½ piece Ripe avocado Halved and pitted for creaminess and healthy fats.
  • 1 piece Banana Fresh or frozen for natural sweetness and creamy texture.
  • 1–2 cups Packed Spinach Fresh or organic for vitamins, fiber, and vibrant green color.
  • ¼ Juice Lime Fresh lime juice for a bright, tangy flavor.
  • ½ Small Green Apple ≈100 g — Roughly chopped for mild sweetness and extra fiber.
  • ½ inch Fresh Ginger Adds a warming, anti-inflammatory kick.
  • ½ cup Frozen Pineapple ≈70 g — Optional for tropical sweetness and bromelain benefits.
Optional Ingredients
  • ½ piece avocado Extra creaminess, from super green smoothie recipe.
  • 2 tablespoons cooked quinoa Adds extra protein and fiber
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds — Omega-3s antioxidants, and fiber booster.
  • 1–2 scoops Vanilla protein powder ≈37 g total
  • 1 tablespoon Honey

Equipment

  • High‑speed blender
  • Measuring Cups
  • Glasses or jars for serving

Method

  1. Prepare ingredients: wash spinach, peel avocado, slice cucumber, and measure kefir. If using frozen fruit (pineapple or banana), have it ready.
  2. Add in this order to a high-powered blender (I used my Vitamix): kefir, avocado, spinach, banana or frozen fruit, quinoa (if using), lime juice, any boosters (chia, protein powder), then ice.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust: add a touch of honey if you want it sweeter, or more lime for brightness. If it’s too thick, add water or more kefir.
  5. Pour and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness with banana, pineapple, honey, or maple syrup.
  • Try different green leaf combinations like spinach, kale, or romaine for variety.
  • To keep the color bright: add lime juice and blend short bursts to avoid oxidation.
  • For picky kids: start with more banana or pineapple, then slowly reduce fruit and increase greens.
  • Use a high-powered blender like a Vitamix for the smoothest texture.
